Kumu K Creations is a small family business based on Hawaiian cultural values combined with evolutionary digital technology. The goal is to merge our cultural background and experience with technical skills and provide a platform to share the voices and experiences of Hawaiiʻs Lahui both in the islands and living abroad with those communities everywhere. Additionally, we plan to expand to other ethnic cultures to share their valuable language, traditions, values, and favorable lifestyle backgrounds. In the Hawaiian language, Kumu means teacher and K stands for Kawahine, the owner of this business. Kawahine danced the hula all her life and is now a Kumu Hula graduate who teaches/instructs students in the art of Hula. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Communications and New Media Technologies, plus her Associate of Arts in Hawaiian Studies. She even received my Web Support Certificate in Information, Computer Science Information Security Specialist Certification in Computer Science, and MOUS Certification in Microsoft Office Software. Therefore, she is very tech-savvy and creative in the digital industry, plus she has over a decade of experience in her culture. Her career background consists of experiences as a Podcast host and producer of Hawaii Abroad Audio Podcast Digital Content, Graphic Designer/Creator, IT Support Technician for over 25 years Computer, and Teacher in Hardware, Software & Networking. Her passion is perpetuating the Hawaiian culture by sharing the ʻike (knowledge) she received from all her elders, parents, teachers & Hawaiian studies schooling by passing it on to her students, their families, and the community. Ultimately, Kumu K Creations strive to produce and share excellent quality and valuable products that the community can enjoy, learn, and share.
